Group Chief Executive Officer
Appointed to the board: October 2017.
Previously Chief Financial Officer of Flybe from 2014 to 2017. Philip has held a number of other senior financial positions including Global Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at SABMiller and Chief Financial Officer of INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe. He spent 16 years at Unilever in a range of finance roles, working in a number of countries including Benelux and Switzerland. Philip has Masters degrees in Business Economics (Rotterdam) and Law (Heerlen).
Group Chief Financial Officer
Held a number of senior financial roles which included Group Finance Director at Devro PLC, Chief Financial Officer at De La Rue PLC and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Enodis PLC.
Prior to this Simon led, at regional and local operating levels, finance functions within Paxar Corporation and British American Tobacco PLC from bases in UK, Switzerland and Ireland.
Simon began his career at PwC where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Global Business Director, Building & Industrial
Clark is a global sales, marketing & business development executive with more than 25 years of experience. He developed expertise in global business intelligence, strategic planning, and commercial leadership during tenures with divisions of United States Steel, BF Goodrich, Qannex and Performance Fibers (formerly Honeywell/Allied Signal). In addition, he was a management investor and served on the leadership team of TruSeal Technologies a specialty chemical business created following the acquisition of Tremco Inc.’s Window Markets division by Kirtland Capital Partners.
Clark joined Low & Bonar in 2013 and serves as the Global Business Director for the Building and Industrial Division and the North American Sales and Marketing Director. In his dual role, Clark leads the strategic planning process and technical B2B sales and marketing efforts for a diverse group of industrial, technical textile, and high performance building product industries.
A graduate of Duke University, Clark also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Financial Management from Southeastern University.
Global Business Director, Coated Technical Textiles
Johann joined Low & Bonar in November 2017 from Rollepaal, a Dutch capital goods manufacturer, where he was Chief Commercial Officer focusing on the plastic pipe industry.
He has extensive international commercial leadership experience in B2B markets having worked in Fokker Aviation and the railway industry before moving to the global fibre business with both Diolen Industrial Fibers (formerly Acordis/Akzo Nobel Fibers) and Performance Fibers (Luxemburg).
He is a graduate of University of Hertfordshire (MBA, 2002) and INSEAD.
Global Business Director, Interiors and Transportation and Group Director of Strategy, Sales and Marketing
A former Officer in the Corps of Royal Engineers and a Civil Engineering graduate from Birmingham University, Gareth has 25 years’ experience in industrial B2B2C market-leading organisations across a number of business sectors including Civil Engineering, Building and Construction, Packaging and Fuel Retail. Gareth has previously worked for Stanton and Stavley, BPB, French industrial giant Saint Gobain, Rexam and Danaher and has lived and worked for several periods in Asia and Europe. Gareth is a career commercial specialist and leads Low & Bonar's Strategy, Marketing and Innovation and is an Executive Director for the Asian Operations.
In 2015 Gareth was appointed Global Business Director for Interiors and Transportation.
Global Business Director, Civil Engineering
Jan is a graduate from the Nyenrode Business University, has significant International experience and has worked in Denmark, Germany, USA and South America. Before joining Low & Bonar, he worked for SHV, an international trading company, AkzoNobel and was the General Manager of Colbond when it was under the tenure of AkzoNobel and later ACORDIS.
Jan joined Low & Bonar in 2006 as Managing Director of the Colbond business and in 2009 also became Managing Director of the Yarns business. In 2012, following the merger of the Colbond and Fabrics businesses, Jan became the Managing Director of the Mehler business as well as continuing to lead the Yarns business.
Early 2016 Jan was appointed Global Business Director for Sports & Leisure and later Group Director of Special Projects, before being appointed Global Business Director for Civil Engineering in February 2018.
APAC Business Development Director & China Country Manager
Alex joined Low & Bonar as the China Country Manager in 2014. Prior to that he worked in various senior management roles including general manager. Over the past 16 years he has worked for BlueSCope Steel, Berker GmbH & Co. KG and Alcan Group in China. Alex has significant experience in sales & marketing and new business development. He also has experience of procurement, customer service and logistic.
Since joining Low & Bonar Alex has established a very capable organisation and manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China and is the senior executive representative of Low & Bonar in the APAC region. He also oversees activities in APAC including maintaining and improving key relationships in the region, driving business growth and developing and optimising resources in line with company strategy.
Alex holds a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Tongji University, China.
Group Director Technology and R&D
Peter joined Low & Bonar in 2006 having worked for British Gas in the UK and for Akzo Nobel in the US and the Netherlands. He has held various positions in R&D, technology and operations and brings more than 20 years of experience in fibre, nonwoven and 3D materials technology. Before being appointed to his current role Peter held key positions at Low & Bonar in Operations, Sales, Technology & Engineering.
Peter is a graduate from Twente University and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Group General Counsel
Matthew Joy is Group General Counsel, overseeing the Group’s Legal Affairs Function. Matthew has 25 years experience as a commercial lawyer, working in private practice, for major financial institutions and in commerce and industry.
Group Company Secretary
Previously Group Company Secretary and Head of Legal at The Restaurant Group plc. Erika has held a number of other senior positions at InterContinental Hotels Group plc, Premier Foods plc, and is a moderator with the ICSA for the Corporate Law and Applied Business Law exams for the CSQS professional qualification. She has a Masters degree in Commercial Law from the University of Bristol (2006), is a graduate of the University of Reading (Law LLB, 2005) and a Fellow of the ICSA.
