High performance, geosynthetic materials that help our distribution partners succeed and grow.
Bontec is our range of products designed to be brought to market by our key partner distributors. These high quality geosynthetics exist to fulfill our distributors’ needs and help them sustain and grow their businesses. The Bontec brand supports them in holding and building a strong position, and Low & Bonar is committed to supplying them with the highest quality geotextiles, on time, and precisely to requirements.
Bontec’s woven and nonwoven geotextiles have applications in separation, filtration, erosion control, drainage, soil reinforcement, stress relief and many other key areas of infrastructure construction.
They are known for their tensile strength, density, exceptional mechanical properties and water permeability. The large number of product types means that whatever the individual project, application or challenge, there’ll be a Bontec geotextile that our partners can deliver to perfectly and precisely meet it.
In nonwoven textiles, polypropylene staple fibres are brought together by needling, sometimes combined with thermal bonding, to produce a ‘felt’ like material. Nonwovens can be light, strong, durable, but also protective and cushioning. They can be found in soil stability and filtration applications beneath roads, hardstanding and railways; protecting valuable pipeline coatings; as erosion control; or providing impermeable membranes in landfill or reservoir construction.
Tapes formed from synthetic polymers are woven together to create a fabric with the desired specifications for a variety of roles in Civil Engineering. They are a cost effective and extremely long lasting solution for many soil stabilisation, reinforcement and filtration purposes. They also feature great mechanical strength and outstanding waterflow and pore size qualities – ideal for applications where high permeability is critical. Wovens can also be produced to deliver very high strength at low elongation, resulting in excellent creep characteristics.
When woven and nonwoven geotextiles are stitched together, the process combines the most desirable properties of each product. Bontec geocomposites are used in situations that require both a high tensile strength and extreme levels of protection. The different combination possibilities also means they can be designed to meet unique and specific challenges.
