Our leadership teamFor more than 100 years we have pushed the boundaries of what our technical materials can achieve, and the solutions they make possible.
Our historyInnovative 3D structure delivers significant advantages as a spacer/flow channel, with outstanding levels of performance
The 95% open structure guarantees excellent flows of liquid and air, a major benefit for ventilation applications within buildings, civil engineering and industry.
Their pioneering construction - from entangled polymer filaments, fused where they intersect - keeps them light, resilient and highly flexible.
They’re available in a wide range of widths and polymer composition, while the 3D structure ensures a low weight as well as a high surface to volume ratio.
Despite the distinctive, open format, they remain highly resistant to compression, have good shock absorption and are long lasting.
Our proprietary technologies create versatile materials in smart combinations that bring a unique set of solutions
Our 3D entangled filament structures can be shaped to act as a core material, eg for growth media or soil mixtures in low weight green roof applications. When these cores are filled with foam structures, they work highly effectively as 3D spacers – for example, shaped into complex forms such as in car dashboards. In such applications, the 3D entangled filament structures have the dual role of providing a scaffold during manufacturing of the foamed material and acting as a reinforcement spacer in the final application.
VISIT BONAR BUILTEnka Solutions geotextiles offer a more economical and environmental way of preventing sand being washed away, and halting the erosion of fertile upper layers of soil. Our materials contribute in many different ways to protect coasts, beaches and inland areas that are prone to flooding.
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSEnkadrain polymeric mats offer drainage performance that outclasses any other solution on the market. For horizontal applications they’re able to lie completely flat, making installation fast and easy. For subsurface drainage our heavy-duty mats have exceptional flow rates and can withstand compression under even the heaviest soil pressure – and for many decades.
VISIT BONAR BUILTEnkadrain dampens subsoil vibrations that traffic inflicts on nearby buildings. Our geosynthetics reinforce weak soils beneath access roads, car parks and pedestrian areas within urban development. They also contribute to Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSOur 3D entangled filament structures are extensively used as a drainage layer to divert excess water effectively while supporting plants and growing medium in the green roof systems. They create an optimal water-air balance in the root zone that promotes healthy plant establishment. These 3D structures are also used as vegetation carriers to provide a base for cultivating flexible pre-vegetated mats for an “instant green” result.
VISIT BONARBUILTXeroflor specializes in pre-vegetated mat systems that are lightweight, low maintenance and economical. We use 3D entangled filament structures as drainage to divert excess water from the roof effectively and as a vegetation carrier to cultivate flexible, pre-vegetated mats that can be easily transported, unrolled and fitted – especially useful when landscape designs involving complicated shapes and contours. These thin lightweight mats are ideal for retrofits, or on older buildings unable to take heavy loads. They are equally at home for urban infrastructure projects such as greening around roadside and tramways, or as vertical green wall systems.
VISIT XEROFLOREnkadrain drains off water alongside foundation walls and underneath floor slabs. Geocomposites create stress relief slip joints between adjacent foundations, and are used for lost formwork. Geogrids and geotextiles are used in thrust relief walls.
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSLandfills are essential in waste management but can release liquids and gas that harm the environment. Enka Solutions products deliver versatile and durable solutions to prevent pollutants leaking into soil and to drain off gas.
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSIn hospitals, offices, hotels and other buildings, noise is a distraction, even a danger. Our Enkamat and Enkasonic products sit beneath flooring to reduce sound transmission between floors or fill roof cavities to cut environmental noise.
VISIT BONARBUILTBy strengthening the resilience of soil, asphalt and embankments and improving the performance of drainage, our Enka Solutions geosynthetic products contribute to the durability and reliability of key transport infrastructure - and cut the cost of maintenance.
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSEnka Solutions geosynthetics provide all necessary drainage and protection layers in tunnel constructions.
VISIT ENKA SOLUTIONSA thermal underlayer is invaluable in helping metal roofs counter difficult climate conditions. It can battle adverse temperature change, humidity, even rainfall noise to improve the roof’s lifespan as well as the experience for those living beneath it. BonarBuilt excels in this use, while our Enkamat, Enkavent and Enkadrain products are also used to improve sidewall ventilation and prevent Radon gas permeating into buildings from soil.
VISIT BONARBUILTThe unique Enkamat structure, with its 95% open spacing and high surface to volume ratio, is key in creating bio-filters able to tackle the industrial cleaning of air and water. Its excellent flow and surface area, and resistance to corrosion help odour control systems cope with complex sulphur, chlorine and volatile organic compounds.
