My career so far
to ensure that some important year end targets were met but within two weeks it became clear that there was much bigger task to do. We had only recently
acquired the company and we needed to integrate them into the Low & Bonar culture. I ended up staying eight months, persuading the 110 staff across two
plants to adopt new working practices and systems.
Since I joined Bonar Floors seven years ago, my career has really taken off. I started as Head of Customer Services at the Krommonie plant in Holland: within 18 months, I added logistics to my role and in less than three years, I took over responsibility for the whole site. Next I found myself off to the Bamber Bridge plant in Lancashire. This was initially a three month assignment |
Once I got to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road, I actually found the working environment similar to Holland but the key thing I learnt is that it is all about people – finding out who is open to change and creating the right environment.
