Low & Bonar PLC – Appointment of Group Finance Director

Low & Bonar PLC ("Low & Bonar") is pleased to announce today the appointment of Kevin Higginson as Group Finance Director with effect from 5 September 2006.

Kevin (46), a Chartered Accountant, was until 30th May 2006, Group Finance Director of The BSS Group PLC("BSS"), a leading distributor of heating, plumbing and pipeline equipment to the industrial and domestic construction and maintenance markets.

Kevin joined BSS in April 2001 and played a significant role in improving its operating performance and in strengthening its financial position. BSS is now a member of the FTSE 250 index.

Prior to his role at BSS, Kevin held various senior positions, including Group Chief Executive and Group Finance Director, with Hazlewood Foods plc, an international food manufacturing business. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Price Waterhouse.
