For its new practice field, American Football team St. Louis Rams has selected a new and advanced synthetic turf system from AstroTurf that uses Bonar's Coolgrass® yarns. The Rams is the first team in the National Football League (NFL) to use the new turf system and marks yet another step forward for Bonar's Coolgrass® product. The turf system meets the rigorous demands and performance characteristics of the NFL. AstroTurf chose Bonar's Coolgrass® diamond profile polyethylene monofilament yarns for the field at Rams Park, the team's training centre, located north west of St Louis, the state capital of Missouri.

"After looking at all the different synthetic turf providers available we felt that AstroTurf was the best choice for us," said Kevin Demoff, St Louis Rams' executive vice president of football operations and chief operating officer. "AstroTurf's commitment to player performance and safety was a major factor in our decision." The construction of the new field was a joint project between GSV (AstroTurf's parent company), Astroturf and Munie Greencare. GSV chairman, Michael Dennis, said: "This is a huge honour to have our state-of-the-art AstroTurf system validated by the Rams and the NFL. We are grateful to have been selected and proud to debut this fabulous technology with the Rams and the NFL.
